Roadstersport 304 stainless midpipe. Carries over popular features from MaxMidpipe including big 5 inch body converter for max flow and longevity and extra large resonator for best rasp control.
We have the ONLY full 5 inch diameter body ultra highflow 200 CPI converter ND Midpipes on the market. Most other choices on the market are 4 inch body cats, this 5 inch body design flows massively better. The math tells you the big news here: area of a 4 inch circle is 12.6 square inches, area of a 5 inch circle is 19.63 square inches, which means our 5 inch body Converter flows nearly 60% better than a 4 inch design!
INCLUDES O2 SENSOR CONNECTION AFTER CONVERTER which means you are ready to add a performance header (relocating the factory second O2 sensor after the converter in this midpipe to help avoid codes.).
Despite very large resonator, this midpipe will raise the final sound level because of the much higher flow.
Mazda gave us a serious challenge with the ND midpipe design but we got it figured out, and now we introduce this second generation ND Midpipe with the best of everything included! Instead of the small ball/socket outlet of the stock midpipe we convert to a flat flange so we can carry more flow all the way out through any of our RoadsterSport mufflers. That means this midpipe ONLY works with our RoadsterSport brand mufflers (the only way to have smooth 2.5 inches of flow all the way). To replace the function of the ball/socket connection but allow for greater flow we use a stainless flex joint. The stainless flex joint adds significant costs but was the best way to max flow and performance all the way out (most other brands pinch the flow to keep the stock flange connection to muffler).
We also stuff the largest and highest density packing stainless resonator that can fit neatly up under the MX5 so that even with greater diameter and flow the sound is mellow and fun, not harsh and abrasive.

Designed as a bolt-on replacement for the factory midpipe to carry higher flow from larger pipe size all the way out any of our RoadsterSport mufflers.

Uses high quality SPUN catalytic converter with metal core. Despite presence of converter this unit is not CARB approved...which makes it legal in California only for off-road/race track use). Uses monster size resonator because when you uncork this ND MX5 motor it wants to get loud unless you use a resonator this large (by comparison stock resonator is much smaller).

BRIAN'S APPLICATION NOTES: I love the sound of this midpipe in combination with our RoadsterSport Helmholtz mufflers, adds burble and throatiness when you push toward redline and helps control the off throttle resonance these motors will otherwise make. We could have done a cheaper midpipe, but we decided to do the best for those of you who demand the best. This is the midpipe we run on both our Turbo ND and our Supercharged ND for max power! On our Turbo ND we use this with our RoadsterSport Race Muffler, on my wife's Supercharged RF we use this with our SuperQ, usually SuperQ header version.
