Aural Adjustability
Peter F. wrote back recently regarding his Goodwin Racing RoadsterSport Stainless MX5 Mid-Pipe and RoadsterSport SUPER-Q Stainless Steel Premium Adjustable Sound MX5 Muffler which was a little bit noisy. We sent Peter our newest Glass Packed Baffle and this is what he had to say; Hi Chris, ...we have had the baffle installed and have taken short trips only, but I do like it better with the baffle in. I think that the addition of the mid pipe had raised the sound just a bit over my liking for everyday use, although I am sure that I will take it out for track...
Progress Technologies Sway Bar Combo
Next up on the list of mods for our ND MX5 was the Progress Technologies sway bar combination. We combined these with the low profile front links Even without coil-overs these sway bars are a terrific improvement with the car feeling much tighter and flatter through twisty mountain roads yet not compromising the ride for everyday use. More mods on the way...stay tuned!
Jason's ND MX5 Fitted With The New RoadsterSport RACE Muffler
We just received this great email from Jason C. after fitting his ND MX5 with the RoadsterSport RACE Muffler; Found time to get the exhaust fitted today. Great sound! Loving it...It actually sounds a lot better in person. Unfortunately the phone's microphone doesn't capture the entirety of the sound - minimal growl/bass captured. We know exactly what you mean Jason!
Our ND Model MX5 Parts...MX5!
As we get asked about our ND and the mods we have and are planning we thought we'd create a series of posts about its development. Thanks to our great mates at West End Mazda, we have a Soul Red 2 litre, 6 speed manual ND. First on the list of mods was the Goodwin Racing headers. As these were a new product from Brian and his team we were unsure whether they would fit the RHD application however we were able to determine that this would not be an issue. We are working with Goodwins regarding the LCB ones however...
The 'butt-meter' Factor
Tony S. ordered and fitted a the RoadsterSport Header & Midpipe to his 2006 NC MX5 back in October. A couple of months later and he's completed the Goodwin Racing trio with a RoadsterSport Super-Q and writes; ...first run up a local steep climb demonstrated a much richer sound compared to the Roadstersport header/mid-pipe/oem muffler, not too loud but definitely purposeful with the overall system’s improvement in torque and power noticeable to the ‘butt-meter’**... Tony also sent some updated pics starting with a shot of the OEM muffler with the following comments; ...the OEM muffler is shown immediately before replacement by...
